dupology reads public discussion on Reddit and counts how often people said one fragrance smells like another. A ranking here is arithmetic over those statements. By using the site you agree to these terms.

The site is operated independently. It is free, requires no account, and may change or stop at any time.

Every figure on this site is a count of what anonymous people wrote in public. It is not laboratory testing, blind comparison, chemical analysis, or any form of verification. Nothing here has been smelled by anyone on our behalf.

An alternative is shown only once at least two separate people have named it, which filters noise — it does not make the claim true. People are wrong, batches vary, formulations are reformulated, and a popular opinion is still an opinion.

A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation to buy, or a statement about any product's quality, authenticity, legality or value. It is a report that people discussed the two together.

Fragrances are applied to skin and inhaled. Nothing on this site is medical, dermatological or allergen advice, and no listing implies that a product is safe for you. Two fragrances described as smelling alike may share nothing in their ingredients.

Check the manufacturer's own ingredient list, and consult a qualified professional about any sensitivity or reaction. Do not rely on this site for that.

Where a price is shown it was observed at some point in the past and may be wrong now. Some prices are read from Reddit discussion rather than from a shop, and those are labelled as such and never presented as an offer for sale.

Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience. We do not operate them, do not control what they sell, and are not party to anything you buy there.

The read-only JSON API is offered without a key and without charge, as-is and without any service commitment. Endpoints, response shapes and availability may change or be withdrawn without notice, and requests may be rate-limited or blocked.

Reuse of the data is welcome with attribution to dupology and a link back. Do not present it as verified fact, and do not present it as your own measurement.

The site and its data are provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for any purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published here — including any purchase you make or any reaction you have to a product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
