Trademarks, copyright and takedowns
Brand names here belong to the houses that own them and are used only to say which products people were talking about. Quotes belong to the people who wrote them. If something on this site should not be, one email removes it.

Trademarks
All fragrance names, brand names, house names and logos are the property of their respective owners. dupology is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any fragrance house, retailer or manufacturer named on this site.
Names are used referentially — to identify the products people were discussing, because a fragrance has no other name. The site uses no house's logo, typeface, packaging or trade dress, and nothing here should be read as suggesting a commercial connection with anyone.
Listing a product as a "dupe" is a report that people said it smells similar. It is not a claim that any product is a counterfeit, a replica, or a copy of another company's goods, and it is not a statement about anyone's intellectual property.
Quoted comments
The site quotes short extracts from public Reddit comments to show the evidence behind a count. Each extract is brief and exists to support an aggregate statistic rather than to republish the discussion; the subreddits the extracts are drawn from are named in the site footer.
Comments remain the property of the people who wrote them. Usernames are never published — see privacy. Reddit is a separate service and is not connected with this site.
Photography and imagery
Photographs used on the site are freely licensed, and every one is credited with its author and licence in the site footer. Most bottle imagery is generated rather than photographed. If an image is credited wrongly or should not be here, tell us and it will be corrected or removed.
Asking for something to be removed
Write to legal@dupology.org with the page URL and what on it you want removed. Say who you are and, if you are acting for a rights holder, on whose behalf.
Requests are acted on quickly and without argument in the ordinary case. In particular: if you wrote a comment quoted here and you want it gone, it will be removed on request — no justification needed, and the same applies if you have since deleted it on Reddit. One quote out of many thousands is not worth anyone's time to contest.
Trademark, copyright and defamation complaints go to the same address and are reviewed on the same basis.
Corrections
If a pairing here is wrong, note that the site reports what people said rather than what is true, and the count is shown so you can weigh it yourself. That said, a claim attributed to the wrong product, a misspelled or wrongly merged name, or a quote that does not say what the page says it does is a genuine bug — send it to the same address and it will be fixed. See why this exists for how the counting works, and terms for what a ranking does and does not claim.
